Culture @ PBIA

Culture@PBIA

Students define the culture at PBIA, which focuses heavily on mutual respect and personal responsibility.

PBIA allows students a remarkable degree of autonomy in exchange for their accepting responsibility for their actions and education with the guidance of faculty and staff.

Students set the tone for the school and define its culture, agreeing to the following rules that have been established by students and administration over the years.

1.

Come Prepared

Students are expected to come to class willingly and prepare to study. It is incumbent upon them to ensure that they attend each class or one-on-one session ready to learn and with all the materials needed on hand.

Ultimately, adherence to this rule manifests into invaluable habits.

2.

Check in and Out

Whether attending class virtually or in-person, PBIA requires students to check in before class begins, and check out once it concludes. When attending virtually students must keep video and audio on at all times.

Not only does this help the school to monitor attendance, but it also reinforces the intention to learn that is so important in developing positive learning habits and personal responsibility.

3.

Tell the Truth

PBIA students are expected to always speak the truth. Our small class sizes and personalized attention foster an environment where students are encouraged to be accountable for their words and actions, even when it may be difficult to do so.

This approach promotes the development of honor and integrity by encouraging students to take responsibility for their words and behaviors.

4.

Don’t Steal

PBIA students must agree to treat each other respectfully, and refrain from not only stealing another’s possessions, but also from copying or plagiarizing their words.

This promotes a culture of respect and academic honesty. It encourages students to honor each other’s property and intellectual contributions, fostering an environment of trust and integrity.

5.

Don’t Gossip

PBIA students must agree to refrain from speaking negatively about others behind their backs or letting others do so. This includes not only students, but faculty and administrators as well.

This propagate a kind and compassionate culture for all.

6.

Respect Everyone

Respect is the cornerstone of PBIA’S culture. Students are frequently reminded of the importance of respecting others and maintaining a culture of mutual respect.

This forces students to adopt a more empathetic personal outlook, remain open to opposing viewpoints, and work more collaboratively with others.
