Readying Students for What Comes Next

Whether bound for college or being prepared to step into a professional career, PBIA ensures that students are ready for whatever comes next.

The goal for many secondary educational level students traditionally has been to gain acceptance to top universities. It is becoming increasingly common for students to bypass college and move straight into a professional career.

As a result, PBIA has evolved in our role as educators, preparing students not only for the rigors of a college education, but also for citizenship and professional leadership as well. We still, however, take the college application process seriously.

Test Prep

One of the most stressful parts of college admissions for students is having to perform well on standardized tests. While there are a litany of methods available to prepare students for this right of passage, none are as effective as receiving training from experienced tutors.

Our faculty take into account prior experience, personal strengths and weaknesses, and psychological responses to standardized testing when creating an individualized curriculum for each student. Students not only learn key standardized test-taking strategies, but also gain essential confidence through practice tests targeting areas most in need of improvement.

We offer personalized assistance with the SSAT, A.P. Exams, SAT, ACT, GRE, MCAT, GMAT, LSAT and more.

College Counseling

PBIA helps college-bound students not only prepare themselves academically, but we also help guide them through the sometimes daunting application process.

Our expert group of certified college counselors begin discussing college goals with students as early as sophomore year so that the process of applying and being admitted to their target universities is as natural and seamless as possible.

All students in our high school diploma program receive college counseling, and many prefer to use our comprehensive approach to the process.

Students are advised in selecting the best schools to match their goals and ambitions, and receive coaching in writing and delivering powerful applications.

Professional Leadership

PBIA recognizes that many of our students are bound for leadership roles, so our school makes certain to prepare them to lead.

Leadership cannot be simply taught. Rather, it must be cultivated and experienced.

Students discover and develop their own leadership through their interests, attitudes, discussions, and experiences. PBIA encourages students to explore their interests through local, national, and international projects, as well as by participating in community service, arts, music, performance, fundraising, writing, STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering,  wRiting, and Math), and other individual endeavors at a self-determined pace.

Many students have formed their own 501(c)(3) organizations as part of their experiences and explorations at PBIA, and are able to use their acumen to contribute to their family’s businesses and charitable organizations.

S.T.A.R. Table™ discussions, group projects, and cooperative learning experiences allow students to forge and refine their own opinions, perspectives, and interests, while learning to respect those of others.
